Two members of the famous Flying Wallendas circus troupe were killed and two others injured as they attempted to perform a three-tier, seven-person high-wire stunt at the State Fair Coliseum in Detroit, on this day in 1962. Incredibly, the remaining Wallendas performed the next day.
