The Buy Michigan Now Festival is returning to Downtown Northville Aug 5-7, 2022. In keeping with tradition, the event offers Michigan-based authors an opportunity to sign and sell books. Traditionally, over the course of the weekend, 25-30,000 people attend this upbeat celebration of Buy Michigan Week.

Writers selected to participate will be provided with a tent, or other suitable structure, and a table for displaying, signing and selling. Two authors at a time will share each space. Authors are responsible for bringing their own books to sell. We also ask that they sign already purchased books if a fan brings one and makes such a request. Interested parties may apply for a timeslot below.

All authors must reside in Michigan in order to be considered. Other factors the Selection Committee will factor in are: genre, subject matter, number of titles, publication dates, and availability. As with all BMN opportunities, priority consideration is given to Buy Michigan Now Members.

Membership for Michigan-based Authors

Membership for Michigan-based authors is just $100 per year and includes an enhanced directory listing year-round with an active link to your own website. These links can improve your site’s search engine rankings. Enhanced listings also include the opportunity to add multiple pictures and social media details. Additionally, Members may submit events and articles to be published on our website, as well as ideas for inclusion in our Gift Guides (Valentines, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Holiday). Plus, they receive priority consideration for press requests and selling/signing opportunities. Coming soon, authors who are Members will be able to include titles in a Michigan-based book directory!

To join as an author, open a free account and then select the Erie membership level if you are an author only, or Ontario, if you prefer to join as a publisher or other Michigan-based company.

Michigan Author Application

Authors who reside in Michigan are invited to complete this application for an opportunity to sign and sell at the Buy Michigan Now Festival Aug 5-7 in Downtown Northville. There is no cost to apply or participate. However, priority consideration will be given to authors who are BMN Members.
