July 21, 2021 @ 12:00 am
In the first game of a double-header, Detroit hurler, Jim Bunning, pitched a no hitter on this day in 1958. He ended the game by getting the legendary Ted Williams to fly out, securing a 3-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox. He would go on to pitch a perfect game later in his career, before becoming a U.S. Senator in Kentucky.
